Collaborating with the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore, a non-profit-organization, OMAS has created the OMAS Limited Edition Michelangelo to celebrate the Italian Sculptor, Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, who is widely known as Michelangelo. Not only is he a sculptor but also a painter, architect, poet and engineer of the High Renaissance. He is one honorable man to have played a great part in contributing to the development of the Western art.
This creation is one project that OMAS has claimed to be something unique, special which has never been done in OMAS before and is one interesting as well as condensed pen. To begin with, the cap of the limited edition is made of Carrara’s marble which is owned by the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore and the trim around the top of the pen has the engraving of Michelangelo’s poetry enclosed in rhyme 151. The Michelangelo drapery is hand decorated on the barrel of the pen in silver. The portrait of Michelangelo by Daniele Da Vorterra can be found on top of the cap. Besides, the hidden sculpture of Moses is underneath the cap as well as the symbol of the three ring which is the symbol and icon of the Accademia del Disegna, Florence. The floor of the Campidoglio Square in Rome is engraved on the 18K gold nib of the fountain pen.
Never disappointing, the box of the pen has is presented in such a way that the pen is as if on display. The box of the pen is made of grey wood, blue velvet and plexiglass. Only a total of 400 fountain pens and 50 rollerball pens are made available.
