First the Charles Krug pen, followed by the Laftie de Rothschild pen and now the Solaia Wine pen. Omas has definitely proved to have a great bond with wines. These two Italian brands, Omas and Marchesi Antinori, symbol of refined exclusiveness, have come together to produce the Limited Edition Solaia Fountain Pen. With Marchese Piero’s intuition, the Solaia was first produced almost unintentionally in the year 1978. In the year 2000, Solaia then became the first Italian wine to be nominated “Wine of the Year” by Wine Spectator and continues to rise in fame.
The body of the Solaia Limited Edition is made of The Oak Wood of the “Marchesi Antinori” barrels, where wine are stored. The engravings of the family coat of arms and vine plant on the cap of them pen is to recall the world of the noble wine. The fountain pen has an 18K gold nib. In honor to the first historical Solaia wine, the limited edition only comes in 1978 pieces: 1 200 piston filling fountain pens and 778 roller ball pens. The box, on the other note, is influenced by the Solaia wine packing.
