Pilot 100th Anniversary Fuji & Meiji-Maru Limited Edition Fountain Pen is  limited to 800 pens worldwide. It takes its inspiration from Mount Fuji and a real sailing ship, Meiji-Maru which included the Emperor Meiji (1852–1912 A.D.) among the passengers before becoming a training vessel. In 2013 Japan’s highest peak Mt. Fuji was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. An important cultural icon, as well as a symbol of high goals, strong ideals and success. The “Meiji-Maru” is the first ship designated as a national important cultural property is now on display at the Etchujima Campus of the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. The fountain pen reflects a rich blue lacquer base showing the sky and the sea with the departing Meiji-Maru with her sails raised in Togidashi-Taka Maki-e (Burnished-Raised Maki-e).
